Devotionals
Sometimes in the middle of everyday things God gives me huge lesson's.
Last night was one of those lessons.
I like to play Monopoly. Next to Skipbo it is probably one of my favorite games.
Unfortunately no one in my home is as big a fan as I am.
So after the kids are tucked in, and my husband is checking out the news, I play with others online.
Well the game wasn't over by the time I wanted to go to bed, but I wanted to help out the human players and not the computer.
So I attempted to give half of my assets to player #1, they rejected.
Then I attempted to give the other half of my assets to player #2, again rejected.
So I end my turn, a bit confused.
Player #2, attempts to buy one of my properties for $5 million, I say no.
Player #2, offers $6 million.
Player #2, continues to offer, until his final offer of $9 million is rejected.
Out of frustration player #2 asks what do I want for my property.
I tell player #2 nothing.
Player # 1 has finally caught on, and begins to message laughter.
I again offer half of my assets to player #1, who promptly takes them.
I offer the other half to player #2 who rejects again.
I complete my turn.
Player number 1 messages player #2, that I am giving the assets to them.
Player number #2 finally makes an offer that involves none of his assets.
I accept.
As I am heading to bed I am sort of amused by the way it all played out.
How I offered something of great value for nothing, and yet they would not take it.
Then the attempt to buy what I had offered for free.
Wait a minute, this sounds really familiar.
How often have I found myself in that same place.
Not fully realizing the gifts that God has for me.
Working hard to gain what only God could provide.
Trying to gain what only can be purchased by the Mercy and Grace of the Lord.
No games about it, I accept all that He wants to give me.
1 Peter 1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. [New King James version]

Lisa, what a delightful piece of writing. There are treasures in life all around us which God is offering just for the taking. I am not referring to healing or prosperity, though God does heal and bless. I am talking about lessons such as you have shared here, and if you notice, these blessings are usually related to things we read in the Bible. God bless you, friend. Have a wonderful day in the Lord, and keep writing for His glory.
