PRAYING FOR LEADERS

I recently read an article asking how we are to pray for leaders that are not born again or that we do not feel have our nation's interest at heart. May I share some of the teaching I have received on this subject?

Jesus has told us to pray for our leaders so that we can live a peaceful life.

Jesus told us we have to bind the strong man before we can plunder his house. So, first we BIND the devil in his efforts to influence our leaders. Then we ask God to send someone across their path that they will listen to, giving them every opportunity to accept Jesus as their Lord. We pray that God will give them wisdom to know what to do and when to do it with all legislation that is drafted. I do believe that we can pray that if they refuse to listen that God will remove them from their position of influence and replace them with someone that will honor God and His Word. For those that have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, they have a prayer language to use that only God understands and it is a perfect prayer.

Please understand me, receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not make one better or more important in the body of Christ than one that has not received the baptism of Holy Spirit. Those that have received have a greater responsibility of interceding.

I trust this has helped the readers of this article. Prayer is powerful. Prayer mixed with faith is unbeatable. We must pray for those in authority over us that they will become acutely aware that GOD is the final authority and they, too, must submit to HIS AUTHORITY.
