Whispers
Into my ear
So softly I hear
As slyly you speak.
Inside my brain
Is branded a name,
You’re objective critique.
Whispers can be
Spoken quite gently,
In loving admiration.
Whispers as well,
Can quite clearly tell,
Tales of sad degradation.
Choice is enjoyed,
When it is employed,
With kind consideration.
Choice is obscene
When words are mean,
Without any approbation.

'You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:16
But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered themselves together; The smiters whom I did not know gathered together against me, They slandered me without ceasing. Psalms 35:15
Whisper. What a gentle sounding word! Whisper. Soft and breathless, gliding and floating through the air, landing with a plunk or a velvety impact on an unsuspecting intellect.
Once it has penetrated the cerebellum, it is impossible to erase it. It becomes fixed. As a defense it would seem the only remedy would be to pass it on. Consequently the journey of whispers begins.
Scripture tells us clearly not to debase, degrade, or disparage our fellowman. Keep in mind it does not clarify the circumstances, the Word just says “do not”. Therefore, it would appear that God does not make any exceptions in this circumstance.
So a word to the wise would be let all your whispers come from God alone. He knows just exactly how to speak to each person’s heart and His whispers are always laudable.
