Hi Philippa.

It's on the way to you now. Let me know if it doesn't make it into your inbox.

(And I know the feeling about that catcher, secretary and housekeeper. It's finding one that wants to work for free that's the hard part.)

Hello Miss Deb, hope you are having a blessed day. I am buddies with Mel and Kel. They both sent thier entries, along with a rating worksheet. So I have a couple of problems I hope you can help me with if you have time.
#1. HELP,... :helpwobble , I don't know how to do this!

#2. both my partners sent me their stuff in either a zip file or some other 'puter thingy.
Is there an simple way for me to do what ever I am suppose to be doing?
I have Windows XP.
I hope you can help me, this is my first ever challange and I don't want to let my Bud's down.
Big Blessings, Donna

I'm not Deb (obviously), but I think I can answer both of your questions.... kind of. :)

The rating sheet is just that.... A rating sheet. (I know.... enlightening! LOL) Basically, the scale is from 0.0 to 5.0, with 0 being they totally missed the mark on that category and 5 meaning it was outstanding - perfect or near perfect in that category. So a 3.5 would be good, but not great. a 2.5 would be okay... average, but not quite "good." A 1.5 would be poor.

As far as the zip file is concerned, first "save" it to your computer. When someone sends an attachment, there are usually two options. Save or open. You'll want to save it to a place you'll be able to find it quickly. I suggest your desktop for temporary storage. Then open the file. There should be an option near the top that says "extract all files." Click that, and you'll get the actual file. Though a challenge entry should be very small, and shouldn't need to be in a zip file... Wonder why they sent it like that. *shrugs* Oh well.

Hope that helps!

Hi Deb,
Sorry to be a pain. I think I have Office, I for sure do not have excel...or a zip thingy.
Thank you for all your hard work and commitment...pun intended.
Donna :heehee

P.S. Could you please tell me where I can find the place I need to go to so I might read the entries or is that allowed?
Blessings and hugs; Good things...

And I'll try to help you out again....

If you don't have Excel, Google "Open Office" and download it. It's a free version of Microsoft Office, and unless you really, really need some very specific feature that's only available in the Microsoft products (I have NO idea what that might be, so don't ask. :) ) Deb even has a version specifically for Open Office.

If you're wondering where you can read the current challenge entries, use this link. http://www.faithwriters.com/wc-active-levels.php

If you're talking about entries for the upcoming topic, unless it's an entry your challenge buddy sent you, you can't read those entries until Thursday.

As far as the zip files are concerned, you shouldn't need any special software to open that. Did my instructions in my last post not work? :-/
