Gerald, I can not imagine your grief; my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Pat what you wrote gives so much solace - so beautiful.

I've never heard the term before, but as they say, nothing ventured, nothings gained. So, here goes:

Happy is the abiding heart
Opening to things yet unseen
Piety yielding vast treasures
Eager its fortunes to expose

I think I could have been clearer in my message had it not been that I wanted the meter to carry the thought.

an acrostic for Gerald

Post by lidijo1 »

Jerry,

You know that you have been in my prayers ever since Linda went home to be with the Lord.

I was touched by your acrostic, and I am glad you are writing again. I think Linda would be pleased to know there is healing taking place.

I hope you don't mind but I've written an acrostic that I hope brings you some measure of reassurance...

Jesus gives us
Eternal hope and
Restores our faith,
Rebukes the darkness,
Yea, verily, He
Answers prayers and
Never fails to
Deliver peace to
Loved ones, reunited
In Heaven's splendor,
Never parting, but
Dwelling in mansions
Above, Forever, Amen.

Love your sister in Christ,
Lisa

acrostics

Post by lidijo1 »

Jan,
You wanted feedback... I thought this would be easy, but found out it is not as easy as it looks. I really had trouble with getting the last two lines to fit.
Anyway, here is another attempt at an acrostic poem.

Lisa

Gifts from God
Reveal hearts of
Absolute trust that
Notice everything and
Demand nothing but
Strong arms and
Open hearts that
Never cease to
Show God's love.
I don't know what my future holds... but I know WHO holds my future...and "I'm persuaded that HE is able to keep that which I've committed unto HIM against that day".

Very nice, Lisa! I love the line about "Notice everything"--how true!
