In search of Agent

Post by Shellieb » Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:53 pm

I am looking for a agent. Is there any sites to avoid? I seen a post on Writers Literacy Agency, but it had been removed. Any help would be nice.
Thanks

Writers Literary Agency is a scam. Please visit the following sites for more information on how to find a good agent:
Writers Beware--http://www.sfwa.org/beware/ (Preditors and Editors)

Writers Weekly Whispers and Warnings--www.writersweekly.com/whispers_and_warnings.php .

There are lists of literary agents in both Writers Market (secular) and Sally Stuart's Christian Writers' Market.

I've never looked for an agent, but the best advice I've gotten from folks here once I hit the point I might need one:

If they ask for money up front, run. They are a scam. Agents take a fair percentage AFTER they help get your book published.
