Congratulations again everyone. I guess I was only a little rusty. Thanks for letting me play this week. Now back to my studies. I don't think I ever finished 11th before. It was either top ten or bottom forty; boom or bust. God bless and keep being a blessing with your writing.

Well done, Faithwriters. The quality of creativity and writing keeps rising and rising.

An aside ... I have observed a pattern ... my entries I most like, seldom score and the entries I consider weak, score. Is there some weird psychological thing going on with me?

No that seems the way it is, but I have found the stories I most like, I'm the closest to, and it's hard to be objective to something we are close to. Trust me, some of my best writing, in my mind, were the furthest away from an EC, but closest to my heart.

So, does that mean you should all submit entries you hate from now on?

(Seriously, just kidding.)

Love, Deb

Just to take up some more space, back in the day when I spent a week on a story, I actually hated it by the time I reworked it a hundred times; they most often placed. The ones I really liked, I didn't want to mess with. So I guess, just kidding seriously, if I don't hate my entry, I haven't worked it enough. As it turnd out, I should have hated this last entry a little more. I must be getting soft:)

Congratulations to all winners. A lot of people must have really hated their stories by the time the submitted them because I've read some spectacular stories this week. :thumbs

What a cool new format. :thumbs :thumbs :thumbs

I concur about the love/hate relationship with stories.

Congrats. William on your first #11th position! And to everyone. So many good stories and poems.

But win or not,

On we go...

(except for me--I'm taking a little break)

:clap :superhappy :clap Congratulations, so many great works presented here.

I understand where both William and Jim are coming from. I guess I've regretted some of my stories rather than hated them. I do feel at times I had abandoned them before they were fully developed and the regret comes in because I didn't spend the time in the struggle to make it better.

I think some stories touch us at a very personal level; and if it doesn't happen to place, I don't think it necessarily speaks to the talent of the writer. They were simply at a place where some weren't - but then some were as well. I'm grateful for both those writers and readers.
