After a wonderful non-fiction Page Turner contest last year, with some outstanding entries, we turn our attention now to fiction.

If you are a Platinum 500 member, it's time to get that first chapter and book overview ready for this year's Fiction Page Turner contest. 2015 marks the ninth annual Page Turner Contest, and for many reasons, this is one contest you don't want to miss. Apart from stirring you up to get that manuscript finished (or at least started) you have the opportunity to get some great feedback once the contest is finished (you just have to ask). Some people enter the Page Turner for the feedback alone.

There have been some really good changes to the Page Turner to make sure the prizes go a bit further. More incentive than ever before to enter.

If you are a Platinum member already, here's where you can find out all the details, and also where you will go to submit your entry:

http://www.faithwriters.com/myaccount/F ... turner.php

If you are not yet a Platinum member, you can find out all about the Page Turner contest here: http://www.faithwriters.com/page-turner.php )

This is the biggest contest we hold each year, so if you are working on a fiction manuscript, or even have an idea for one in mind, this contest is for you.

After you submit, I will contact you to let you know that your entry has been safely received. If you submit an entry and I haven't contacted you within a couple of days, PLEASE contact me and ask me to check. There is a link to my contact page (at Breath of Fresh Air Press) near the bottom of both the above pages. If I'm online, you can use the chat button for an immediate response.

As always, the Page Turner contest is huge, and most definitely worth entering. If you miss out this year, there won't be another Fiction Page Turner until 2017.

Love, Deb

Deb,

Are members limited to one entry? Or could I submit two(different) books?

Hmmm ... I'm not sure what we have in the rules about that. LOL. (I wrote the rules, so you would think I'd know.)

Probably out of fairness, I'd say just submit the one entry that you feel has the strongest publishing potential. Or even which one you have the strongest connection to, because if you win, you are really going to have to love working on that book.

hmmm... What if I submit the second entry under a pseudonym, or better yet with my night-time personality?

LOL. Now, I could be wrong about this, but I think that was done before, BUT they had to have two Platinum memberships to do it (one under the pseudonym). I remember being asked about it at some point years ago, and I can't quite remember if they did it or not, but I know it was on the cards.

Has been done in the Challenge in the past.

On my overview page, I forgot to request that I would like some feedback. Is it too late to request here?

Hey Lollie, you must have ticked the box because I saw that you wanted feedback. We introduced that as a check box option on the entry this year to make it easier for everyone. People didn't always think to ask for it before, but this year it's pretty obvious everyone is wanting it. I've not seen one entry so far that hasn't checked that box.

Hi Deb,

What is the actual deadline date for submissions to be entered? Have I missed it?

I was dearly hoping to enter this year, but have just barely gotten my head above water after a hectic summer (boy do I miss the Challenge! ).

Assuming I can still enter - are there guidelines anywhere on the technical format of the document that is submitted? Like maybe a sample document we could see?

Hi Rachel. You haven't missed the deadline, but it is very close. You have until midnight October 31. I don't recommend leaving to the last minute. Too stressful.

And we've missed you in the Challenge, too.

October 31? Pshaw, that's LOADS of time! (Don't worry, I am 100% kidding.) Really, my chapter just needs some spit-n-polish. I've had it written for a while, luckily. Just need a synopsis.

Any formatting guidelines/requirements? Any guidelines on the synopsis?

Oh glee, I can still enter! (If I get my rear in gear. Just waiting to hear from Bea on a question about membership deets.)

You're more than halfway there. You'll be fine. :D

No requirements, just have the book proposal/synopsis at the start of the document. No fancy book formatting in the document (pictures, for example).

Wow, that sounds...simple!

So synopsis and chapter are to be in the same document?

Also - is there a "no shorter than x wordspages" or "no longer than x"? My chapter is about 1800 words. 12 pt, single space, Times new roman, 1 inch margins (I *think*), it is two full pages and almost a full 3rd page.

Tried to make it as painless as possible this year.

And given the length of your chapter, I'd suggest adding the second chapter as well. We allow that for super short chapters.
