Congratulations to the winners of the 2013 Fiction Page Turner contest.
http://www.faithwriters.com/page-turner-winners2013.php
I was blown away by the standard of entries this year. There were so many with publishing potential. Some had very strong publishing potential. Of the top 15 contenders, these three entries just sparkled a little brighter (for a variety of reasons).
Again, a huge congratulations to our Page Turner Champion and two runners up. All very, very deserving of your wins.
And for our non-fiction writers, stand by for the 2014 Page Turner contest starting January 1.
Love, Deb

Three cheers for all the entrants for the Page Turner Contest. I find comfort in knowing that I share in a fellowship of Christian creatives working away turning thoughts into words. Congratulations to our finalists and winners ... I am humbled and honored to be numbered among you. Now ... I must be back to work bringing Shadow Fox and her fellow creatures to full life as they minister in the enchanted world of Greyfriars' Abbey.
Thank you, judges. You have inspired this humble scribe.

Jim, I will be cheering you on all the way. The gentle spirit of your entry was so incredibly special. It brought a wave of peace over me just reading it. I definitely wanted to read more. So write, dear Jim. You have something very beautiful in the works.

I want to take my hat off to not only the winners but to everyone that entered. I think you are all winners. To even enter makes you so.
I want to encourage those who did not make the first three places; don't be disocouraged, finnish the book. The art of reading is slowly dying, it needs our stories to keep reviving it. I didn't even have the courage to enter, so I respect you all and would love to see a flood of books being published that were started right here.
Of course, I also take my hat off to the three top place getters; and maybe add a little bow.
Blessings, Graham.

May we all get eyes to see and ears to hear,
A Revelation of His Word, crystal clear.
Admitting our need to be drawn in,
Less of self, more of Him.
My prayer for us all.
God bless us with the Revelation of His Word, Graham

Re: Winners - 2013 Fiction Page Turner Contest
Wow. I'm honored and floored. When I saw my name included with the list of finalists, I was humbled. I recognized many of those names, and I've seen their writing. There was so much talent in that list, I was delighted just to be a part of it.
All I can think of now is that I didn't get here on my own. Without God, my writing would have no purpose. Without the entire staff of FaithWriters, I would not have had a safe place to write and build up my confidence as a writer. Without the love of family and friends, my writing would be pointless. Without my writer friends--my iron-sharpening-iron besties, how on earth could my writing skills and faith be honed? Without the proofreading and editing services of Jan Ackerson, my writing would have shined less. (Oh my gosh, that woman is a gem!) Without the FaithWriter writing conference, I wouldn't have met Mike Edwards and would have missed out on an inspiring conversation with him about writing and faith, I wouldn't have met my challenge buddy in person, and wouldn't have met author Leslie Gould, who has been encouraging me ever since.
I could go on, but I'll spare you. This isn't the Oscars for crying out loud, so I'll wrap up. To quote a friend: "Whatever I do that turns out good, that's on God. Whatever I do that doesn't hit the mark, well, that's on me."
Congratulations to all who entered. That is an accomplishment all in itself. Congratulations to the finalists. And congratulations to Kevin Ingram and Jim McWhinnie.

Re: Winners - 2013 Fiction Page Turner Contest
Wow, what a weird feeling to make the top three this year, especially among such an anointed and talented group of writers. (group? gaggle? herd? school?)
I am so thankful and humbled, and I pray for everyone here to be blessed and encouraged, and remain persistent in reaching for the high mark of the calling of God. Jesus said, "Apart from me you can do nothing" but "With God all things are possible." If we stay close to Jesus, not only will the destination be amazing, but the journey can be awesome too.
May we never give up on our calling - Stay blessed and write on! † † †
