Page Turner Terms and Conditions of Entry

Post by Deb Porter » Thu Feb 12, 2009 12:00 am

To save everyone having to pop back and forth to the Page Turner Contest page, I thought it would be just as easy to post the terms and conditions here. So here you go:

# Entry in the Page Turner contest is open only to members of the FaithWriters 500.

# Entries will open on January 1, 2009, and close on October 31, 2009. The winner will be announced on December 1, 2009.

# Entries must be made using the online form HERE.

# Entries do not need to be written specifically for this contest. They may be a previously written work; however, they must not have been previously published.

# Entries must comprise of the first chapter of the entrant's novel, together with a synopsis for the entire work. If a short introduction is included as part of the manuscript, that may also be included with the first chapter. If the chapter is extremely short (up to 4 pages), entrants may include a second chapter.

# Entries must be the sole creation and work of the submitting author; however, outside assistance for editing is permitted.

# Every entry must include a completed entry form with full contact details.

# Each entry will be judged on creative and literary skill, as well as the ability to catch and hold a reader's attention and make them want to turn the page for more. Entries will also be judged on the publishing potential of the manuscript. The brief synopsis of the entire book will be taken into consideration during the judging process.

# The judges' decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

# Entries must be a work of fiction, written for a Christian market and from a Christian perspective. In other words, they should reflect a Christian outlook on life.

# One entry only is permitted per FaithWriters 500 membership.

# Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.

# With regard to the prize, it should be noted that the editing component must be used before December 2010.

# By completion of the application form, the winner(s) give their consent for and Finesse Writing and Editing Service to use their name(s) for promotion purposes.

# The author always retains the full rights to their entry, and neither nor Finesse Writing and Editing Service will make any claim on those rights,

# Neither nor Finesse Writing and Editing Service will make public any part of any entry without the author's written consent.
