Soggy Thanksgiving to you all. Wind is finally died down but the rains are still falling, more the really thick mist that soaks even your spirit. In other words the normal holiday mood is in full swing.

Still looking for a new comp, maybe with the after T-day sales. Most of the ones I have seen lately are the all in one PC, everything is built into the monitor screen. Yeah, it could open some space on the desk, and the screen is larger.....

Thinking of you all and wishing you a Thankful holiday.

Hey Puppers and all. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. We drove 16 hours each way to spend time with Q and his fiance. We were able to meet her parents too, which was nice, but boy I liked it when he lived closer. They are coming up for Christmas for 4 days too so that will be nice. Chris and I are going on a cruise soon. We are sailing out of Baltimore so listen for my shout out Becky!

Picked up a new tablet to play with, now I can at least get online. Maybe I will do me some shopping and find a good computer. It is rather hard typing on this thing, but I can get online again. :coolsign

I hate being sick. Had to take the rest of the day off at work on Thursday, and had to text our office manager Friday to say I wasn't gonna make it in. How bad is it? Had a high fever--no thermometer, so don't know how high--and it took me 20-30 minutes to eat a donut. Normally I can do that in 3 minutes. Then I coughed real hard, and up it came. At lunch, I just had a pouch of fruit juice. Someone came around with Reese's mini cups, got 10, ate 4. This morning, I managed to keep 6 donut holes down. On my way home from getting my mail, I stopped in the Food 4 Less and got a large bottle of water and a pint of milk. I don't know what I'll do for dinner. My fever broke last night, and I found a spray bottle of 12 hour decongestant, and slept much better. I'm trying to be careful, but at least I'm not asleep all day like I was yesterday. Still moving slowly, though.

Last Friday's dinner was spaghetti--which thankfully stayed down. I'm eating normally, as my stomach is roaring at me to eat--throw caution to the winds and just feed me!
Had a long appointment at the research center today. As I got on my first bus, the driver said good morning; when I tried to reply, all that came out was a strangled "Gluurk". No warning whatsoever. My voice is still shot. When I go back tomorrow to return the Holter monitor, they'll take a listen. Since the medicine I was taking works through the thyroid to reduce fatty deposits in the liver, I'm hoping that this isn't a side effect. But I don't need to take the medicine anymore. After tomorrow, all that's left in the study is after New Year's, I'll get a third and final MRI of my liver, plus a follow-up exam, and that's it.
Got pictures of my niece Kaitlyn's wedding back in October. Her cake had Lady and the Tramp toppers! Annnnd..... last but not least, my long-awaited grandnephew arrived in November! :superhappy :clap :party
I am currently organizing efforts to spoil them even now!

Have to take today and tomorrow off--I'm falling asleep everywhere. Cough is slowly improving a bit, went and filled the prescription for an inhaler which turned out to be completely covered by Cal-Optima.

Back to work this week. Still working on the voice bit. Couldn't get my shower today because of 7 showers, only 3 were working, plus the men were taking longer than 15 minutes . That is not fair, and the gal who was in charge is not as proactive as the one who's usually in charge of showers. Finally I went and got some body wipes, and since they weren't very moist, I added hand sanitizer to one and did my body in the bathroom. Also applied deodorant, of course. Maybe I can get to church early tomorrow and clean up better as well as doing my hair and teeth.
Speaking of teeth, the other day I saw a dental mobile clinic van at the shelter, so I filled out the paperwork and got checked out. The broken-off tooth will have to be removed; the molar that's broken down will have to have a root canal, and there's other maintenence work to be done on the rest. The root canal will have to be farmed out to SOS, which stands for Serve Our Selves, though something major like this is handled on a lottery system, which can take months. Anyway, the mobile dental van comes back after New Year's so with other stuff I have planned, the first week of the New Year will be a busy one.
Got a nice warm coat last week, brand new, from Northrup Grumman. I have a sleeping bag rated for 40 degrees F. which I added to my bedding, and boy is it comfortable! Makes my cot with a mat feel more like a real bed! But because of the open sides of the building, I had to keep my half dozen blankets and throws on top of it to keep cozy. I'm planning to go to WISEPlace for Christmas Day festivities.
At church we have a Christmas Eve service planned in lieu of our usual morning service; for New Year's Eve we're having a "New York New Year's Eve", which means it's from 6 to 9 p.m., which is 9 p.m. to midnight, New York time! Hopefully the staff at the shelter will dispense with the 8:30 p.m. count and curfew on NYE, so I can stay the whole time.
Have a merry Christmas, and a happy and blessed New Year, everybody!

Oh, one last thing--a year or so ago, I shared a link for a video about a cat named Starsky in Arizona, who became "Kitty Humbug" because of a painting made of him in a Santa hat. The video had a clip of the "Kitty Humbug the Cat" song; now if you search for "Kitty Humbug" on your search engine, it will take you to links on YouTube of the complete music video of the song, as well as the original video telling Starsky's story. Enjoy!

Hiya Shortstuff. I sure did, well sort of. Lost my computer completely, and HAD to get a new one. Took me THREE days to figure it out, and still working on the playlists. But it is coming along. Now, if this thing had a remote, I could lay in bed and read... 29 inch all-in-one comp with touch screen.

Also... I stopped a war from happening. The little Monkey kept bugging her sister and mom when ever they were using their own tablets, Soooooo, I got her one too. Now she REALLY loves Uncle Ed.

Hey Pup, I thought Deejay post about going to the dentist was yours for a second. I was shocked you went to any doctor. After the bump from falling on the floor healed, I finished reading and realized it wasn't you. :tongue

Ahh sorry about your computer, but it sounds like a nice one that you got to replace the other one. I love that you stopped a war. I bet you're one of her favorite people now. My kids say I can't buy live, but... :? I know she'd love ya no matter what. I love my tablet. I do pretty much everything on it now, although some of the bigger editing jobs, I still like using the big pc with two screens.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Deejay

The cruise was absolutely wonderful. I was so afraid I'd be seasick, but only got a bit queasy. I loved having fresh sheets and my bed turned down every night, room service around the clock and all kinds of food all made. The best part was just spending time with Chris.

We drove through Maryland with me shouting Hey Becky! :D

Went to the dental van yesterday, and they refused to see me because I still have this rotten cold. It was for x-rays, for goodness' sake. What's the big deal?
Went to the research center for my final visit in the study I was in. Got three prescriptions--another inhaler, another type of antibiotic, and a steroid to clear my lungs.

Had something of a miracle in the email--my oldest niece sent me a thank you email for the Christmas gifts for my grandniece and grandnephew. Shelby loves her Pete the Cat doll! When mom was alive, she complained that none of her grandkids sent thank you notes--now I got one from Megan! Mom's ashes must be turning over in her grave!

Actually, SOS or Serve Our Selves stands for Share Our Selves. Voice is better. Had my dental x-rays, and the tooth they wanted to do a root canal on turned out to be unsalvagable, so next week it's coming out. Once I get rid of this cough and get that rotten tooth out, I should be feeling way better.
