I'm praying for you and your wife!

Thanks for passing on the message! I'll be praying for her. Is it the same fever and shingles?

Even though I feel cruddy and have horrific sores and am back in hospital I'm doing a gentle Happy Dance for our resident writers, Allison, Toni, and Rachel all ranked in top 25 overall. Happy Dance! Happy Dance! Happy Dance!

I haven't had a chance to read them all but don't let that stop you all!

Thanks for the prayers and support. It's been a cold difficult week. On Sunday, I suddenly had weakness in right side of face, difficulty swallowing, talking and drooling. Turns out the virus was attacking my facial and neck nerves. I have sores all across the one side of my face as well as my eye and neck and have a low-grade fever.

Believe it or not, but I've been so blessed at some of the darkest hours this week. The Holy Spirit has been working overtime on my behalf. Thank you for prayers. They only poked me once for the IV. I think that has only ever happened once for me and that blew me away as well.

Other than pain and feeling cruddy, the hardest thing is people saying, Oh you must love it here to come back so soon. " It hurts and I get that unless you're sick it's hard to understand how badly I wish I could have had a normal Easter with my family and could do things like editing and how hard it is to wait.

RIch, I'm so sorry things are tough now. My mom had a great line: keep your chin up and your eyes on the Lord.

Deejay I'm glad you were safe and nothing worse than a good scare.

Love ya all lots

I'm glad you're aware of the Lord's presence, Shann. I would definitely need some Holy Spirit help if the hospital staff was making cracks like that. :x

Shann, it blesses me to hear that you are experiencing God's comfort in the midst of the darkness and pain.

Thank you for the congratulation on my EC. You are such a great encourager! It's hard to believe I'm in the Masters now.

Well, I did it! I completed the Color Run 5K today!

Before:

After:

I was able to get in the first wave, so I didn't feel like I was lagging behind too much, except when people from what I'm sure were waves 2, 3, 4 and possibly 5 passed me. But I really didn't care that much. I finished!

I posted a few more on Face Book, and there will be at least a couple that I know the official photographers got of me. One because I purposely made eye contact with the finish line photographer and posed for him. THAT should be an interesting one.

A 5K 1 year, 2 months after hip replacement at age 29. Take THAT, medical issues!

And of course, all the glory is to God.

What's a color run?

It's an untimed 5K, and at each kilometer marker, they toss this colored powder on you, so by the end you are all colorful and kind of "tie-dyed." Thus the "after" picture.
