My mom and daughter are so awesome.

My mom is like that, too. So glad you got some rest and wow, you got a lot canned! Is it hard for you to stand that long to do stuff like that? I can't do hardly any cooking any more. I love peaches, though, and green beans are nice, too.

It is quite difficult for me to stand that long. Thank goodness we only had a bit to do today. It was enough though to exhaust me and put me into a situation where I'm having spikes in my pain levels and the meds aren't helping. I know that it's going to do this to me every time but I want my family to have good food so I put up with it as best I can. On days when we have a lot of it to do I enlist all the help I can and I use my power chair. It has a lift in the seat so I can get to counter height and that really helps a lot.

Cynthia, well done. Canning is fun when others help. One very hot August, 1967 I
think, I put up about 30 quarts of Lady Alberta peaches. My kitchen was west facing and oh my was it hot! The next year we went to the same orchard to discover it had been cut through by a roadway. I could never find Lady Alberta peaches after that, not even canned in the store.

Shann, I'm still here! Don't worry, I'm still part of the Rest-Stop family. We're getting a new home in the Water Cooler I hear. The only constant is change.

I see Pup is still ornery

I'm making headway on my YA novel revisions and could use some input from anyone here. How should I go about it?

Hi guys. So I'm asking prayer for my sister-in-law's sister and her family. I'm pretty sure I've brought her up before. Anyway, she has a Caring Bridge page for her youngest son although she does use it to update on all of her kids medical problems and needs and how things are going.

She has 7 children and the all have their health problems. The oldest has asthma, the second child has craniosynostosis, Chiari malformation, spina bifida occulta, the third child has spina bifida occulta (unaffected), the fourth has Chiari malformation and POTS, the fifth has chiari maformation, Ehlers Danlos and Syringomyelia, the sixth child has ciari malformation, and the seventh has PKU, Chiari malformation, Ehlers Danlos, osteo (arthritis i think but dunno) and asthma.

The oldest is 20 now I think and the youngest is 5.

Now here is where the prayers come in. On the Caring Bridge page she posted about a woman who emailed her and basically condemned her for having so many children "knowing" that they would all end up with these problems, the women even went on to say how dare she have her children and put them through this "hell on earth".

The sad part is, she didn't know any of that would happen. All her kids were healthy, except the second child, all before the youngest was even born. They didn't even know PKU was a possibility until she was pregnant with #7. After he was born and diagnosed with PKU and eventually diagnosed with all his other health problems, that's when all her other kids were diagnosed with health problems too. Her 5th and 6th children were just diagnosed with Chiari in the last year or two and had brain surgeries and number 5 was just diagnosed with POTS this year. Its just so sad.
