That sounds cool Cynthia. I always thought loofahs were a type of sponge that grew in the ocean or something. I wonder if they would grow around here. I need to start planting my garden too. It's been such a weird year first unseasonable warm then a freak snowstorm plus we have had a couple of frosts this month. I do have my tomatoes planted but need to get going on the rest

You're right. I didn't know a loofah was a gourd!! I did know that you use them to wash with you can buy in the store.
I think the sponge you are thinking of Shann, is Sponge Bob!!

A loofah sounds like a critter in Oz.Shann wrote:That sounds cool Cynthia. I always thought loofahs were a type of sponge that grew in the ocean or something. I wonder if they would grow around here. Yes, I'm still here, folks! I was in here reading.
3 days 'til my sis's wedding! Got my tux - pink shirt, cool!
I'm deleting all exclamation points and semi-colons in my YA novel. Should I get rid of dates like this:
Chapter One
June 2000
It appeared to be an ordinary June day as I sat on in the front porch, engrossed in a western novel, until a thundering noise made me jerk up. A full-sized pickup truck pulling a trailer screeched to a halt across the street. A big man stepped out and stretched. When a boy about my age jumped out of the truck my heart began to race. Oh, to have a friend right across the street, I thought with excitement.
“Dad, we’re home!” the boy hollered. He gestured for his dad. “Hurry up, Dad. I can’t wait to see my room.”
“Oh, give your old man a minute,” I heard the man groan.

I'll have you know I've never seen a full episode of that but my husband and 18 yo daughter loves it so it's possible. I'd never seen Phineas and Ferb and one of the conditions of getting the dog is Lyd could name it. She told me she liked Pomegranate. So I named him Phineas but really didn't like it so I switched it to Phin but you really need to have 2 syllables and since Lyd was going to camp Findley he morphed into Phindley but mainly I call him Phin.Rebecky wrote:Well I thought it was funny...Rebecky wrote:I think the sponge you are thinking of Shann, is Sponge Bob!!![]()

So Becky and Tiara-- I think I have what could be a wonderful opening for either one of you or even possibly both.. The camps where my kids work are in great need for counselors and kitchen staff over the age of 18. I know it might be hard to get here but you would live on the camp for the whole summer and you have Saturday off. The staff bonds really quickly. Both camps are in great need. You would start soon like next week and go til mid August. Your pay would probably be about $1800 for the summer. I know it may seem like not much money but they pay for your room and board. Plus you have this terrific chance to teach kids about God. I think it would be so good for you both. I know you have some physical pain that limits you Becky but there is a nurse on staff. Camp Findley is in the southern tier just past Jamestown. It would probably be a 4-5 hour drive but I think you would love it, from what you say you have a good connection with kids at the daycare. If anyone is interested let me know.

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop
I am so glad I am only on days for two weeks. I fell asleep at 10:30 for like 15 minutes; then woke up WIDE awake. Even though I'm exhausted from the day. Maybe I am overtired. Anyways I am pretty sure I am OD'ing on Benadryl, but I have got to sleep before work in the morning. But of course the more I fret the worse it gets. It's really hot, too, which makes it hard to sleep.
This is my normally wide awake time thanks to nights.
Hope you all are well. And sleeping better than I am.

Thanks Shann. It'd be nice to have the money for my outstanding dentist bill. Especially since they keep bugging me about it.
Anyway, I won't be able to do it. (This summer anyway)
I have some things I have to do this summer that I can't get out of.
Thanks for thinking of me though.

My neighbors were loud all night. I thought they'd finally shut up at 11pm but then got even louder and then started playing music.

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop
Cynthia, in England they are called marrows. We have a few planted on the dung heap. They should grow very well. I pick them small as they still have taste that way, ha ha. I really wish we could have found butternut squash seeds couldn't find them here or in England. I loved them halved, baked with brown sugar and butter. Yum yum
Becky, I meant to say I enjoyed the pictures, loved the kitty one.

Thank you both.
The kitty one is my kitty Squeakers, or Squeaky for short. He's the one that got a hole in this throat randomly. He's all better now though.
