OK so I wasn't sure if my knee was swollen or not but now I think I'm pretty sure that it is cause I put a pair of capris on and its tighter around my right knee (the one I fell on) than my left and it's noticeable that my right knee is protruding more than my left when I'm wearing my capris, it's harder to tell without wearing anything.

Oh it's not even noon yet and it's so hot I had to turn theair on. I want to live in Alaska. Then I could say I live on the West Coast too! But they probably don't have fireflies in Alaska either :(

Becky just A couple more
Do you say pop, soda, or soda-pop? Fireflies or lightening bugs? And for the Caribbean do you say care- A-be-in or Ca- rib-be -in?
Celtic with a soft or hard C ?

Actually I was curious because Becky lives closest to me, but now I'm curious what everyone says (Becky too) In my Human Geography class (the best college course ever! It was. fascinating how the Professor could tell if you lived in state what part of the state yas were from and the out of state students he could tell what region they were from and often which state. I also learned in that class that most humans when using a particular public restroom regularly, they would always go to the same stall and sink if possible and if not possible many would have A difficult time going. Cool huh? Think about it it. I bet you do it too! I loved loved that class! (I think that's where I leaned like 80% of people like the smell of their own farts I just have to love a class like that!

Alas, I have never seen one either. I guess Barbie and I are deprived.

I would like to see them.

I have seen dinoflagellates, though.

No, I didn't make that up. They're a marine plankton that are basically the ocean equivalent of lightning bugs. They're tinier, but they light up when the water is disturbed. They're really cool!

About 30 years ago--a couple of years out of college and before I met John, I went with my brother, a friend of his and my cousin sailing for a week on my brother's boat. We saw them one night. We were using the motor at that point so it churned up the water enough to get them going. We turned off the lights (the bright lights from the cabin area, not the navigation / marker lights) on the boat and watched them light up behind the stern when we went through the water. 8)

Then Louann (my cousin) and I found that they'd swirl into the "head" when it was flushed (since it took in ocean water for that purpose), so we kept flushing it over and over to see them and squealed and laughed like little kids, until my brother made us stop. I was in my twenties and she in her forties.

We also saw a lot of other cool stuff on that trip. I haven't ever traveled much or done much that's interesting in that kind of way, other than that, but that was a really fun trip!

When knee started hurting everyone said it didn't look swollen, so I meanie if to see if I was going crazy and my sore knee was 2 inches bigger. You should ice it for 10 mim on and 20 min off and keep it elevated as much as possible.

The Philippines' independence day is July 4, 1946. What's interesting is they became independent from the U.S.
A list of countries independence dates: http://didyouknow.org/lists/independence/

I never seen a firefly either.

Yeah, what were we thinking, not bringing food to a picnic? (perhaps we would've gone home if no one had food or go to the Thai restaurant - tofu!)

I'm looking forward to the next writer's weekly challenge - don't know when the last time I did one.

Praise report: 2 of my cousins (2nd cousins) were saved last month!

Yoo Hoooooo

Hi ya sweet people!

Wow, the web site looks diff-everything's in the wrong place haha.

The first things I saw here when I got on site was Deejay talking about a kitty and Shannikins talking about farts. I guess it's not so diff at all.

A place without lightening bugs-oh my. I started an article about lightening bugs coupla weeks ago. I guess this means I'll have to finish it? Someone telling me something huh?

I got computer gremlins fer sure. Shann, the laptop came back up-amazing. I'm afraid to turn it off now, and get that "hard drive not found" message. I've got yellow legal pages full of writing; guess I better get them typed while I can. About all I can do on the other pc is write emails.

My washing machine stopped working and suddenly started again too-maybe I got "house" gremlins.

I think about you guys all the time. I hope you're all doing well and writing like crazy. Anybody here winning challenges?

Love, hugs, blessings.

That's right and if it hurts take Motrin (ibuprofen) instead of Tylenol. If it keeps getting worse and the ice isn't helping you can rotate heat and ice.Usually your body will tell you what you need, if you're suddenly thinking a hot bath sounds good then do that. Just make sure with both heat and ice you wrap it in something so it doesn't burn or freeze your skin.

Jay, that's interesting about the Philippines. Did you have that tidbit stord in your brain or did you need to look it up on that handy website?

PATTY I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU! HAPPY DANCE! :party :party :party :party :party :party :party

I'm glad you you have gremlins in your house! Ivy just went top PA to see her brother! Although can't remember to the name of the town was a taste was to the east and south you. She saw her first firefly ever too. I never knew how deprived-you West Coasters are

SoS got I new puppy He's a cream Pom and his name is sir Phineas. I'm hoping to train him as a therapy dog but he's food aggressive and yappy but I'm working hard within and at least he's been therapeutic for me. with me. Shelley has done some awesome writing andAmy is working on another PeP project and Pup sent me some good reading material

Guess what! I received my very first EC! There's the link if you want to check it out.

OOOHHH PAGE 888 AND I ALMOST DIDN'T NOTICE!

Here's A copy, of the prayerrequest I submitted in theprayer forum. I. know it's no big deal to most people best the 2 weeks waiting to get admitted are going to be as hard if not harder than the 2 weeks in the hospital. But then worrying_is what I do best. :sorry

I'm sure some of you are groaning what again? But this time I'm very nervous about it. I've been putting off going to this specialists for almost two years. But I finally went to the epilepsy center and they confirmed I need to go in for up to 2 weeks for long term monitoring.

They basically hook up electrodes to my head and have cameras monitoring the room 24 hours. They are looking for seizures. I've had spells where I lose time the worst was 6 hours long and I remember being in the kitchen and woke up in bed with a gash on my head and dried blood all over my face. Because I'm alone so much of the time it's hard to know what happens. My family has witnessed it a few times too.

The reason why I'm especially scared is I have to go to the big teaching hospital in Rochester, NY which is over an hour away. I'm used to going to my little town hospital where I worked as an OB nurse and know all the doctors and nurses. Plus my mom died at Strong about this time 18 years ago. I know it's silly but I really am scared.

Right now the admission date is scheduled for July 19 We also have had a hard time with the insurance. They have been fighting my claims for almost 2 years. It was supposed to be settled by July 1 but so far nothing has changed.

If it does get pushed back, then I could end up being in the hospital the exact date of my mother's death (August 24) and would likely miss the first few days of Lyd's Senior year. So I'm nervous and restless which rubs off on my family too.

I loved that description of the Disneyland effect of the bugs- that I can related too.

Kara, you said Colorado has them? All over the state, or just in certain areas? When are they at their peak?
That is really too bad, Barb and Shelley! I'm not sure if they are everywhere in Co, but they are in southwest Co where I grew up- I think just in the summer.

Celtic with a soft or hard C ?
I either say the name of the beverage or just refer to them as carbonated beverages...I don't really drink them. And I say Car-ib-e-in, but sometimes I say it the other way. Kind of the route- depending on the sentences will change how I pronounce it. Like you have to say "root" 66, but I would say "he went a different rowt"

I think Vase is the only one where I say both every time, so its not a V-ay-se or a V- aw-se but a Vase-Vase (v-ay-se, v-aw-se)

Praying for you Shann, that God will give you peace about it and you don't have worry or stress. The waiting and anxiety make it that much worse! Try not to focus on everything that you hate about it or are afraid of, and just picture yourself there being kindly taken care of with plenty of time to get on here and chat with us and write challenge entries.....maybe that wont help any

But seriously praying for ya!

Sorry bout your knee Becks, take it easy!

Patty!! Been missing you.

Fireflies are so pretty. I've only seen them a few times. I've seen pics of the underwater things that glow, too, so cool!

Here we call the drink "pop" or by it's specific name, and Carribean I say both ways... Vase I say as one syllable that rhymes with base unless I'm trying to be sophisticated and then I say Vah-z. :P

Shann, you know I'm praying for you and am here for you the whole way.

Becky, hope your knee gets better. Ouch.

Today my mom's best friend from college who is a photagrapher came over and took pics of me signing. I'm playing with them in a photo program and tey are turning out so cool! I'm gonna use them for my "H" blog post. Can wait to show you all but gonna wait a week to post them.

A couple times she kept fiddling with the tripod, peering in the camera saying, "Th picture looks crooked but the tripod doesn't seem crooked." The problem is that I'm crooked because of my drop shoulder and scoliosis. :P
