Ah Trace! That's the sort of feedback that keeps me doing what I do. So glad it is making a difference, and it sounds like you are one of the wise ones who jump in and make the most of everything available. You'll go from strength to strength.

Please help! I generally try to find a unique approach to the topics but as I look back over my last 3 submissions, in light of the judges sheets I just read, I think I may be compromising on being true to the topic in order to find a creative approach. Is unique interpretation of the word given (ex. 'sloth') discouraged?

Perhaps, I should ask if I should be strictly adhering to the definition given?

Hi Zach.

This quarter we are being fairly strict with the topic (as this is the deadly sins quarter). That's why I'm giving the very tight interpretation we're looking for. So if the topics don't give a really tight definition, you have more wriggle room.

So, in other words, for this topic writing about a sloth (the animal) would not really fit the topic exactly, UNLESS he was a sinfully slothful sloth.

Having said that, the topic is only one small part of the overall rating. There would have to be absolutely no connection to the topic for you to get 0 for that category.

Hey Deb,

I would like a ratings sheet. I don't know what excel is. I have Microsoft word. I can also download open office if I need to. MY email address is [email protected]

Thanks,

~ Richard

Grace is God's invisible hand reaching down and touching the heart of sinful man. It is not restricted to only a select few. It does not hesitate but boldly goes where no man has gone. The grace of God goes the distance to reach those deep hurting and bleeding places. But more than that it takes and heals and delivers and restores. We should all want to get in that special place where God pours out His healing grace. The Sacred Place of God's Grace

Hi Richard. If you MS Word, you should have Excel as well. I'll send it through to you, but if by some chance you don't have Excel and can't open the file, let me know.
