Wk 5 Topic: HOME Challenge

Post by itsjoanne » Thu Feb 07, 2019 12:52 pm

Hey there, Challengeers. There’s no place like the Week 5 topic:

HOME
http://www.faithwriters.com/writing-challenge-intro.php

The most common meaning is the one that is dear to our hearts—the place where we live. A house becomes a home when we move in. Our country or state/town of origin may also be our home. And as Christians, we also have a heavenly home.

There are some different interpretations of home, so if you need some inspiration, have a look at the dictionary definitions.

HOME
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/home

I’ve lived in a LOT of different houses or apartments in my years on earth so far. Most have felt like “home” at some point, to some extent, but I have to say my current house is the place I most think about as “home.”

Where will your home be?

Have fun with the topic. As always, you can write in any genre or style you like, AS LONG AS SOME MEANING OF THE TOPIC IS THE MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR ENTRY ... and as long as the entry conforms to the rules.

DON’T FORGET the new Challenge rule. Every entry must communicate some form of Christian message or spiritual truth. For fiction writers, if your message is subtle or allegorical, please include a scripture at the end of the entry in order to highlight the intended message for the reader.

As always, remember to check your word count before submitting (entries must be between 150 and 750 words). A very reliable and free online word count check tool is this one:

http://www.wordcountertool.com/

PLEASE, always hit the preview button to check your entry before hitting the final submit button. This is the only way to make sure your entry is uploaded correctly. This is very important, particularly if you are using HTML code for the first time. Once you have previewed your entry, close the preview page and hit the submit button.

Finally, once submitted, do a check to make sure your entry is safely in the list:

Hit a home run in the Challenge this week. Hope to see you in the list!

Love, Joanne

This is a tough one for out of the box thinking! So many obvious come to mind, especially "There's no place like home." I will dwell on it for awhile.

I noticed that there were two entries already submitted shortly after the topic was posted. How did they do that so fast? Or was it last minute MAP posters who were too late?

Well, I will be home for the holiday, for my home is where my heart is!

They were "latecomers." Pretty sure they'll get scooted over.

I am in the same boat as Barb - want to think outside the box but have nothing yet.

I'm with you, Shann! My current work is really pushing it. Yet, I feel that this is what I should be doing. I don't know... :?
