Wk 2 Topic - BORED Challenge

Postby Deb Porter » Thu Jan 11, 2018 3:11 pm

Hi there, Challengeers. This week’s topic could be interpreted as kind of dull, but that’s what makes it fun. The Week 2 topic is:

Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

If you’re a parent, then you’ve probably had the experience of a bored child in the back seat on a long trip. Hey, we probably were that kid once.

Ever had to sit through a really long message at church where the pastor keeps repeating the same one or two points over and over? If your eyes were glazing over, then you were most likely bored.

BUT this week’s topic is not only about being wearied by dullness. It can also be about having bored through something. You may have bored through a wall, a mountain, or a crowd, for example. Check through the dictionary definitions to get inspiration.

Have fun with the topic. You can write in any genre or style you like. You can do with the topic whatever your heart desires. AS LONG AS SOME MEANING OF THE TOPIC, BORED, IS THE MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR ENTRY ... and as long as the entry conforms to the rules.

As always, don't forget to check your word count before submitting (entries must be between 150 and 750 words). A very reliable and free online word count check tool is this one:

PLEASE, always hit the preview button to check your entry before hitting the final submit button. This is the only way to make sure your entry is uploaded correctly. This is very important, particularly if you are using HTML code for the first time. Once you have previewed your entry, close the preview page and hit the submit button.

Finally, once submitted, do a check to make sure your entry is safely in the list:

So there’s your challenge. Amuse us with your best BORED entries.

Love, Deb
