Problems with computers

I was trying to check a topic reply notification, and the library computers are so slow, I've seen glaciers move faster. I switched from Firefox to IE, and that sped things up a bit. However, while still in Firefox, I got a general error message, SQL error [mysqli], too many connections [1040] sql error occurred while fetching this page.
Then, in IE, I tried to reply to a topic, and got 502 Bad Gateway nmixg. The librarians all say they have IT working on the issue, but the computers are too slow in the afternoons. I get messages from the computer saying my browser needs to be updated. But that's the library computer; my netbook automatically updates.
So, as suggested in the error messages, I have reported this error to you.

I received the error once but after waiting a few minutes, I refreshed and had no more problems. (I use Chrome)

Could these problems be denial-of-service operations against a Christian website?
Millard.

No, I think the system is busy for a second. It only happened once and I was able to reconnect within a minute or two.

Well, the reason I ask, I saw the "too many connections" message. Don't get that
much elsewhere. Just wondered. Thanks.

I also got it at the same time when I tried to open my Amazon page.
