Dividing a fiction story into chapters and reliable sources

I am ready to start dividing part of my book into chapter, what advice do you have for me? All I've heard through a writing course waschapters should be between 2500 to 3500 words.

Alao, what aree some reliable internt sources for seeking writing advice? I learned in school you shpuld avoid anything that ends in .com as it may not be created by a reputable source.

I would base it on topics or themes more than word counts. Each chapter should be around the same length, but I don't believe word count is always the best way to go. It depends on the genre and intended audience too. Writer's Digest is a goid source. Here's a link:
