Where to find a publisher

Post by Vonnie » Fri Apr 03, 2020 7:34 pm

I would like to find a publisher for my book which is comprised of all my stories from the contests here on FaithWriters, plus a few others. There are so many self-publishers out there that are not honest. The Christian publishers I found want so much money. I don't have a lot to spend. Any suggestions? Thanks, LaVonne

The only thing I could tell you is to check Writer's Market. If you don't want to buy one, most public libraries have copies of them. Unfortunately right now, most libraries aren't open, at least around me.

The other thing might be to self-publish. There's a couple of places that give templates and don't charge anything. (My brain can't pull the names, CreateSpace is what I used, but it's under a different name--it's through Amazon. Maybe another is Smashwords, but I'm not positive on that either.)

Thanks, I will look into the self-publishing.

Vonnie, If you are considering self-publishing and am aware there are costs involved,
you might want to check these links:

Vonnie, a bit of clarification re: Lulu:

"Basically there is no initial investment! You create the format, you follow the guidelines on the website, you design the book the way you want it and that's it. What you order is what you pay for.”
