Quick favor please
The Open Medicine Foundation is sponsoring a poetry contest. The OMF raises funds and initiates collaborative research for complex chronic diseases. Their current focus is on a disease that currently has no treatment and is more debilitating than many people realize. Poems are to be about living with ME/CFS and include a message of hope for the future. Two winning poems will be used in their awareness campaign in May. I will be grateful for each person who reads and votes for the poem I entered, entitled Even Though. https://www.omf.ngo/poetry-submission/even-though/
Re: Quick favor please
I've read Laurie's poem, and it is wonderful. If you or a loved one have ever suffered through a chronic illness, you'll be able to relate to this beautiful poem. If you've been blessed enough to not have suffered or have someone you know scrabble with constant pain, this poem will open your eyes. The website is doing so much to help spread the word about how Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is so much more than the name suggests. Researchers are also on the verge of some amazing results that we pray will turn into a cure or some kind of treatment. I bet you'd be surprised how many members here have been affected by this illness (including me), so please take the time to read and vote on Laurie's poem. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Thank you, Shann.
Yes, the Open Medicine Foundation is awesome. I hope the winning poems in this contest will help in their efforts to spread awareness about this misunderstood disease.

I write even when I think I can't, because I must.
I love to write. Nothing escapes the crush I have on the written word. I'm hooked on words!!

Voting is open until March 1. Then a panel of judges will decide, and the winner will be notified by email. However, they don't give an exact date when that will happen. I wish they did, but in all fairness, they've never run a poetry contest before.
