Pretty sure this is spam. I used the 'report post' triangle thingy.

Re: #16--A GREAT BEGINNING

Hi Jan, Not sure if this is still up and running, but I'd love your thoughts on this opener: I hate ducks. I always have hated ducks, but after today, they're enemy number 1. Or version 2 I hate ducks; always have. But after today's humiliation, they're Billie's "public enemy number 1." Th...

Re: The 2012 Page Turner Contest is Up and Running

Hi Deb,

I have an idea that I am thinking of working on, and I thought I'd check if a devotional book/manuscript is acceptable for this year's Page Turner contest, or is it more for actual subjects, such as marriage, kids, whatever?

Re: And and Then, and spacing after period...

Thanks for the clarification on these.

Because of the clarifications, writing has suddenly become much easier! :)

As for Nanaimo bars . . . I just googled them and oh boy, I am in trouble! They look amazing! I might just have to try and find a recipe for them I think!

Re: Principle Parts of a Verb - And How to Use Them Properly

I apogise for your near loss of lunch!

I returned to Dictionary.com and found the error was mine  They have the listing as "Verb: dialect." This was yet another learning point for me, to read the information properly!

Re: Principle Parts of a Verb - And How to Use Them Properly

Hi Ann, I'm not sure if you are still following this link (it's pretty old!) but I thought I'd throw some sentences down. Most of this is straight forward in my mind, but there are a few tricky ones I wanted to check. I see a bear. I saw a bear. I had seen a bear. I will become angry if you keep tha...

Re: And and Then, and spacing after period...

Well this was a very successful find! Firstly, I was searching for the answer to starting sentences with And or But. Does the rule still apply to "Because" or is this still frowned upon? For example: "The number of readers has dropped dramatically in recent days and the library is fin...

Re: shoulda coulda woulda

Ann, I just had to reply to this, as only yesterday I was explaining this very thing to my 7yo son! They are learning contractions at the moment and this one stumped him. He, too, thought the answer was "would of," etc. Ah yes, don't you just love the English language?!  Blessi...

Well done everyone!

And a quick question; Deb, did you have to retype each person's story for Current Affair, or just re-enter the link?! Either way, what a phenomenal job you and the Edwards dynamic duo have done!

BIG congrats to Annie in 16th position, my beautiful buddy.

And a big box of virtual chockies to Margaret Kearley in 11th place - missed it by that much

Helen
