Hmmm, I still only have the same three paragraphs written that I had three months ago. :? I'll get busy, but might not make it. :|

Congrats!! :) Mondo bummer...not in the top 40...again! Raspberries. I knew humor stunk, but romance was good...just a tad off topic. Sigh. I'm with ya there. I didn't think my humor one was any good and it got something like 35th place. I was hoping to place this week and I'm not on the list at all!

Sounds like a good plan. It feels good to know that you're finally getting to an old friend and introducing them to the world.

I know someone who is considering being a judge and she likes mom lit and war stories, so I guess we're set.

And no, it's not me, but personally I haven't yet met a genre that I didn't like so long as it is well written and doesn't have swearing or overly sensual stuff in it.

I've read a thread of two about the Page Turner Writing Contest but I can't seem to find what it's all about.

What am I missing?

Sorry!
Jules, if you sign in to the 500 page, there is a link at the bottom of the links that gives all the info. :D

You know, I almost thought about not entering so I'd get to read all the chapters and help judge. Sounds fun and so much less stressful than the challenge. Almost. No way I'm gonna miss this opportunity! Deb, will it still qualify if it's a novella, rather than a full-length novel? The cha...

Al is right. Hehe, I'm glad I'm not the only one doing this. Al changed his avatar to something else, and Rebecca is using his old one. I keep thinking Rebecca is Al, too. ;) Is this announcement going to be sent via email to all the FW500 members? There must be an awful lot of them who don't come ...

Will this be a one-time contest, or a yearly thing? Umm how many words in the first chapter... I didnt see it listed. :? Typically a chapter is somewhere around one or two thousand, I think? The site said: Although there won't be a set word count, it should be kept in mind that entries will comprise...

I found it about an hour before you announced it. Had no idea I was looking at the big surprise! LOL!

Hmmm, if I'm writing a 10,000 word novella that is going inside a Peculiar People book would the first chapter qualify?

I think I went to the 500s boards a whole three times... :| Something like that. I always felt a little bad I didn't manage more, but I only seem to be able to stay active long-term on about two boards. Especially now with school. In other words, thanks Deb! :D I don't promise to keep up on all thes...
