Do you know how shocked I was to see that this one landed in the top ten for Masters? I thought it was a workable idea, but when I finished the entry, I didn't think 750 words was really enough to develop it properly. This has been a "stretching" quarter, and hats-off to all who have risen...

Congratulations, all.

Those of you who have repeatedly done well this quarter have my admiration. This round of topics has certainly been a stretch, and shown me that regional topics are not my strong suit.

Then again, that's what the challenge is all about, isn't it?

Congrats, everyone. For those who commented on my entry that they'd never let a big, freaky spider crawl on them? Neither would I. I get the heebie-jeebies just seeing them on television. When they first ran the teaser for "Eight-Legged Freaks" in the theater, I was getting those involunta...

Trust me; Deb will find things we completely overlooked.

(Which is precisely why a professional editor is so important...)

If you've ever had a good time with an imaginary friend, you're cut out for writing a ficiton novel.

I tried to submit, but it told me the chapter was the incorrect file format. Funny; it says it needs an MS Word document, and I was trying to upload an MS Word document, written and saved in MS Word, and ending in the .doc extension. Is there something I'm missing here? Trim it down a bit? The entry form says 500 words max!

I suppose cutting it by about 86% is a "bit". :)

(Not being critical; so far, both iterations I've worked on went over 1000 words before I was half-way through the summary)

Don't forget the synopsis, Pup.

Man, getting that synopsis both brief and conclusive is just kicking my tail. I think the story was easier to write than the synopsis (for me, at least).
