Where's the jaw-dropping emoticon when I need it. I knew we'd break the record by quite a bit this year but didn't imagine it would be by this much!

So awesome to see the numbers so high. I know a lot of those are really high quality pieces and strong contenders. The winner will really have something to be proud of. I don't envy the judges having to pick, but I do envy them all the sneak peeks of all the great reads!

Wah, the synopsis form word counter has mine as 17 words more than Word told me it was. Must cut more words!

Is this the biggest number of entries we've had to date, Deb? I know of at least 3 others who haven't submitted yet, too. Cool to see so many participating!

Oh, I see on the actual entry form (which I clicked on out of curiosity) that the synopsis has to be under 500 words.

The deadline used to be Sept, didn't it? I was thinking my time was up soon, but now I see I have until Oct 31st. Can you give me an idea of what a "short synopsis" means? About a page long?

OK, here's a perhaps silly question. My novel has pretty short chapters, so I'm trying to decide how much to plan on entering. The rules say if it's under 4 pages then you can submit two chapters--is that four pages with the lines double-spaced? Standard for submission anywhere is double-spaced, so ...
