Hey, Deb - I see you're quite busy, so I'll make this brief! Got a friend, Allen Stark, who submitted his entry. He said it was a couple weeks ago, but hasn't heard from you, so he's concerned, especially with the deadline so close. I told him I would post a message here and see what I could find ou...

The key is to communicate briefly where the story is going so that we can see whether the promise of the first chapter is likely to be fulfilled in the entire story. Sorry to get so particular  So does this mean that it's okay if it's a teaser-type, like you'd see on the back of a book? Or ar...

On the submit page, it gives a limit of 500 words. However, I think Deb told someone else on another thread that it's just as guideline so the synopses don't become a mile long. So... I'd say shoot for 500 words, unless Deb wants to add clarification here.yvonne wrote:Is there a word limit for the synopsis?

Question about entries
Does the entire manuscript have to be completed by the Oct. deadline? I have a manuscript I might like to enter, but it may only be about half-done by then. I couldn't find any info for this side of things (though that might just confirm that I am indeed blind).

We have had no internet connection for a couple of days so I have only just seen the results now. Wow, swoon, fall over backwards and hit the floor! It's a funny thing but I wasn't entirely satisfied with my entry for this week. I was trying to do something clever with twists and counter-twists and...
