Thanks, Caitlyn After reading some of your other posts, I can say with conviction that you've always been a great encourager. I think your ending was great...humorous with a smidgeon of surprise. It quite accurately depicted the workings of a child's mind. Lillian Fortunate 500 www.oursilverstrands....

Jan, This was my entry for Cyber communication. I thought my ending was pretty clever with the right element of surprise. I'm not certain as to how I could apply some of your suggestions to improve the ending. I will say that as I read some of the other stories, my story seems to lack depth to make ...

It's me again :D Your instructions are not simply instructive, but also affirmative. As I read your post on non-fiction writing, I'm amazed at how intuitively, without design, some articles I wrote "passed your test." Undoubtedly, I've much to learn from this thread, even if I don't always do the ho...

A Loud Shoutout to All Winners!! [/color] With so many entries, this is certainly worthy of praise. I send an extra congratulations to two Newbies. It's no coincidence that with their first submission both ranked 1st and 3rd in Level1. I suggested they join Faithwriters because I knew they had tale...

Oops!

I just sent in my summary, but not in outline form. If it doesn't pass
the goal and reader direction test, any chance of redoing it?

summary question

Still waiting for clarification. Does anyone who has submitted before have a clue?

:?: :?: :?: :?:

Is the chapter by chapter outline the summary of choice for Page Turner;
or a paragraphical synopsis?

Thanks,

Synopsis

Kristi, Go for it. If you have an idea, jump in and do it. I started my first chapter last week, and I still have a few pages left. I know the conventional wisdom is to start out with an outline (synopsis), but I'm leaving that for last. If I recall, from an answer I got from Debi, she mentioned the...

Page One and Question

HALLEUJAH! PAGE ONE IS DONE

I lit the flame and it's getting hot. I think I'll make deadline.

Tell me, is there a list somewhere of non-fiction titles that have won Page Turner? I was just curious as to how my title fits in.

Iwill.... I will....I WILL...stay away from the Forum for the next 27 days.

Oops! I forgot about the Weekly Challenge! :P

:helpwobble If I'm going to do Page Turner and The Challenge, I'll need an extra dose of The Muse!!!!

Major Question

Even though we're down to the wire, I was thinking of trying to beat the odds and write a chapter. However, it occurred to me (conventional wisdom and past experience) I just might need an outline. Must an outline of the book accompany the first chapter? Lillian Fortunate500 www.oursilverstrands.com

Page Turner Contest

Hi,

Down to the wire question. Is the Page Turner for published books or
books-in-waiting?

Re: Rights and The Challenge

I'm not sure if I missed this, so I'm going to take a chance and ask it again. :? When an EC is selected for publication, FW has first rights. Can the author publish the article elsewhere BEFORE it appears in an Anthology, or must the author wait until after it's published by FW? Lillian Fortunate 5...

First, I lift my arms in praise to God, our Creator, who freely gives us all "good gifts," including the urge to write. And, many thanks to all who sent congrats to my winning entry. As a Newbie, this is indeed a thriller! Hats off to all winners, and a big collective hug to all FWs who continue to ...

EC results -Inner Person Quarter

A hearty thanks to Jan, Debbie, and all who make Faithwriters a true mecca for writers. As a FW Newbie, I never expected to be on any list anytime soon. My love for writing, once simmering, now boils after joining FW. Grateful to be on the list.
