Wow Jan
Thumbs up for this. I've been absent for some time from Faithwriters, but saw this today. Very informative and helpful.
God bless you, Jan

Re: Writing Challenge Feedback Reports and Rating Categories
Hi Deb
This sounds very good. Just a question. You stated:
Requests for reports on Editors’ Choice winning entries will not be accepted.
Does that mean that you cannot receive a report if your article was in the EC?
Thanks for all you all are doing on FW,
Blessings

Re: Question about POV
Hi Virginia One more point. I did what you suggested, but there were no reviews on the particular book, but then I read some reviews on some other books this person wrote (Mind you 15 Novels) Listen to what one person wrote: "This book has so much potential, but it was a lost cause due to numer...

Re: Question about POV
Yes, you are right Virginia. I just gotten the book because of somebody wanting me to do a romance story, but it has raised several other questions and some of the examples this person is using are rather strange. Better stick to the known and proven ways. Sorry I did not respond earlier. I had not ...

Re: Question about POV
Thanks Jan It's always refreshing hearing from you. I understand your response. I will stick safely to the way I was taught as it just sounds/feels better to not write from an omniscient POV. Someone asked me to write a Christian Romance story, which is why I bought the book on Romance writing (onli...

Question about POV
Hello Dear Ones. I was studying a book that teaches on writing Romance and it talks again about the differences in POV. I have always learned it is very important to not switch POV and stay on track so as not to confuse the reader. However in this book it states you can write from several POV’s. I u...

Re: Be a Better Writer--SHE WRITES IN THIRD PERSON
I did this challenge entry on greed in the third person. http://www.faithwriters.com/wc-article-level4-previous.php?id=50232 I never really knew much about all these diffferent possibilities in wrtiting and so forth. I always wanted to write, but it never really took off, until I joined Faithwriters...

Re: Be a Better Writer--A TOUCH OF POV
After your encouragement I wrote my entry for last week in the first person. Certainly was a bit of a change, but that's what the challenge is all about. The link to the article is here: http://www.faithwriters.com/wc-article-level4-previous.php?id=50343 Now I will have to try writing in second pers...

Re: Be a Better Writer--TELL, DON'T SHOW? WHAT?
I never really knew much about Telling vs Showing until I joined Faithwriters. In my natural state I tend to take off and ramble on. Now I have learned about showing, but I think I am at the stage where I try to do some showing in just about every sentence. Ha. I am just going overboard on the other...

Re: Be a Better Writer--A TOUCH OF POV
I don't usually write in the first person. Come to think of it, I never really do. It seems most of my stories have a good amount of dialogue, but are always narrated. I love to just write and let the story come to life while the characters and me are on a journey together. Writing in the first pers...

Great Jan
I will see if I can make some time for the homework.
I bet you like donuts. Ha.
Your story about June is truly marvellous. I will read it to my wife, and I am sure she will enjoy it immensely. (We have 7 children)
Kind regards

Re: Be A Better Writer -- BIOGRAPHY
Ha, it took me some struggles to get this entry in. I had written a nice biography, I thought, but after reading the discussion here, I had to toss it out, as, although it did contain a fair number of facts, I had interwoven these with fictional conversations between the characters. I was quite plea...

Emphasis
Hi Jan I had a short question about emphasis. There have been occasions where I wanted to put the emphasis on a word. For example, I take a sentence like: Joe just had to have the new computer. If I want to put the emphasis on 'had' because he really, really wanted it, how do I write that? Is 'Joe j...
