Re: Page Turner Feedback - 2013

Deb, you are probably the busiest person I know. In Portland I told Steve that I didn't know how in the world you handled so many irons in the fire at the same time. He said, "I can tell you. She doesn't waste a single minute of her day." I can believe that. You should teach a class on Eff...

Re: Top 15 Finalists - Page Turner Contest 2013

Congratulations to all who participated in the challenge. I've decided win loose or draw I am still going to see this manuscript through to the end. My characters are depending on me.

Re: 2013 Page Turner Entry Tally

You ever get that gut wrenching feeling just before you click "Submit?" Like the first time you put your only child on the bus for their first day of school and watch them leave with their face pressed against the window?

Yeah. Me too.

Wow, wow, wow. Thank you judges for the recognition from among so many great stories and fellow writers for all of the wonderful comments. This just blows my mind. I always enjoy the challenge, but I'm not supposed to win. Not in my mind, not with so many great writers here. I will leave a s...

I guess you have to try make a man want to read about moms, Lynda. And the men have to try and make women like war. :P I don't like either. :P  I think other contests use just a few judges also for all genres don' t they? What about armies of nothing but mothers fighting over clearan...

With my not being a novelist (or a good speller  ), how many words should a chapter be? In your opinion of course. I like to write dialog that sets the scene with as little narrative as possible. (Don't know if narrative is the right word, but it sure sounds like I know what I'm talking abo...

Where else could you have this much fun for just under 33 cents per day?

If nothing else maybe this contest will at least nudge me to finally finish my book.

I'm definitely going to need some help with this one. Short stories are one thing, but this isn't quite the same for me. For instance I don't know if my chapter 1 is enough by itself or should chapters 1 and 2 be combined to make up chapter 1. Oh well and the journey begins. <>< George
