Another Austen fan, huh? I spent some time in Bath, England last summer, and saw some of the places she mentions in some of her books. I'm not jealous...really... :angel2 Heheh..I would love to come there one day. Living in Denmark should make it possible....but alas we use most of our money to com...

Jan, I am glad to hear that you are going to get lots of time to spend with your grandchild. That will be wonderful! I look forward to you starting class again...I hope to get in all of the syllabus by then. :D I don't have many good titles...but I have a couple that I think were interesting. STruck...

(My husband is speaking Danish beside me on the telephone so I got confused! :D ) Yeah, anyway, it was fun to read what you wrote. Actually, I originally had five jars of...

Steve, my 9th grade lit. students now think I'm deranged, as I just read your post and laughed out loud. Now they want to know what's so funny--and I have no idea how to explain it to them. :rolling 9th graders can be so fun, can't they? Just tell them that you are studying anti-deconstructionism a...

Wow...this discussion definitely has gotten deep, but it's definitely giving an education! I thought about U2 as I read Steve's response. There are so many interpretations to what their songs mean that there is a whole website devoted to the interpretation! I can see a lot of Christian symbolism in ...

Steve, that book sounds like one I want to read! Where do I get my hands on that? Thanks for the references to Gospel of Mark. I've never thought about it that way before. I think I will have to read it again with that in mind. :D And in line with the last few posts...I'd have been very unhappy if t...

Here's a thought I just had... Is suspsnese more effective when the outcome is good? Going back to Apollo 13... if they hadn't survived, or of there was a movie about the Colombia or Challenger disasters, would they be as suspenseful? I don't think they would, and I think it's because we expect a h...

Another thought
Thanks for the laughs I've had by reading these posts. Lots of fun. I've been thinking about one of my favorite authors who is a master of suspense. Ted Dekker can make me stay up until 2 am just to find out the ending (otherwise I might not have the best of dreams :) ). His book Three also totally ...

I thought I'd try my hand at these questions...well at least 1,2,4,5,6....I must admit I've never seen LOST and don't mind that I haven't! 1. Lord of the Rings----will, oh, what's his name, Frodo, right?, make it in time to safety? 2. Charlotte’s Web will Wilbur be slaughtered for Christmas dinner o...
