Re: Be A Better Writer -- FREE FOR ALL

Hi Jan - been away for a while (years probably) and just read your post - I miss the challenge and writing in so many ways - thinking about jumping back in and giving it another try! God's speed on your vacation and time with your family - Loren

Re: Winners for NOTE

Have been away and not receiving emails, so just now seeing this. After reading so many great entries this week it's a pleasant surprise to see my article placing among them. Congratulations to all the participants this week. Writing, it seems, is what God would have us do; and by doing so we are in...

Congratulations to all the writers who placed this week. I don't know how the judges narrowed it down - there were soooo many great entries this week. The writing and creativity is amazing. Enjoyed all the reads :book2 I was able to get to and will try to read some more. Thanks, too for the comments...

Re: Winners for PARK

Thank-you judges - my hope in writing this piece was to share what I see and feel when despair creeps into our lives - hope springing eternal - personified in nature and faithful to God's design. I read so many good works this week and am both humbled and honored to receive this standing. It is a pe...

Re: Winners for FUNNY

Thanks, Judges, and congratulations to all those who placed this week. For a while there, I was thinking maybe I had somehow missed the theme (once again). Welcome back, too, Shirley. I think I remember your saying once you rode or taught English riding - anyway, your story certainly shows your hear...

Re: Winners for BARBECUE/COOKOUT

:thankssign Myrna, for the WhoWho or it is it WhoHoo? Regardless, I couldn't be more pleased as I dearly loved these characters and the direction the story took as I began to write. I hope to visit them again, soon :) :thankssign , too, to the judges and all who stopped by to visit during this Blue ...

:clap :clap :clap Congratulations to some great writers. And Shann, I think you are proving that it pays off reading and commenting on other's works. It sharpens you as well as it encourages others in their skills; and Biblically speaking, your are casting your bread up the waters. :coolsign Loren

Re: I'm here again.

Ann - I'm glad you're back and that this forum is here. Grammar, correct punctuation is/are? like light particles, I can never seem to get a grasp of them for any length of time - if at all. I know the rules don't change and we need them to make sense of what we're trying to say; but there seems to ...

Re: #17--A GREAT BEGINNING #2

Loren, that's lovely. The only thing I can see that I'd change doesn't have a thing to do with writing a good beginning, because you've nailed that. It's just a tiny slip in tenses, from past tense verbs (waked, merged) to a present tense verb (calls). Nice to hear from you! Thanks, Jan ~ I can &qu...
