Re: MARY magazine..Legit?

FYI: I did receive a quick and nice response last week from Sounja stating that they would contact me if I was "selected for an interview".

Re: MARY magazine..Legit?

I let you know what I receive. I tried very hard to find an online presence and didn't find anything more that what you posted, Deb. It sounds interesting, though.

Re: MARY magazine..Legit?

Deb, I sent back an inquiry to Sounja as well asking for some additional information. I sent links to some of my articles online so that she'd have some different writing samples. I couldn't get a good sense of what she needed so I asked for any writer's guidelines or theme lists. We'll see what com...

I'm so excited! Thanks to everyone who rode my roller coaster of an entry. I have a love/hate relationship with them. I'm OK coming down, but actually am terrified of the trip up. Tick...Tick...Tick... This morning #1 son discovered he was finally tall enough to ride the coaster at the zoo BY HIMSEL...

Great titles all, Karen--and did you love "The Guernsey Literary Society..."? It's near the top of my list, for sure--I adored it! Could not put it down. Not the usual type of book I like to unwind with (no spies, mysterious deaths to solve). She had a good hook and it was amazing what sh...

I've had titles on the brain this week--after Jan's class. I keep a list of books I've read. I see some salsa words. I see some titles that were just strange enough to make me wonder what the book was about. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (just finished this one) A Good Scent from...

I was reading nursery rhymes to my kids today and came across this one: Vintery, mintery, cutery, corn, Apple seed and apple thorn; Wire, briar, limber lock, Three geese in a flock. One flew east, And one flew west, And one flew over the cuckoo's nest. I didn't realize that's where the title of the ...

Karen--"The Gift of the Magpie" ROCKS! It works equally well for those who are familiar with the O Henry short story and those who are not. 'Magpie' is a great salsa word, and the pun is sublime. As for your Bible study...how about "Ruth, the Whole Ruth, and Nothing But the Ruth"...

"How do you come up with titles?" was one of the first questions I asked after joining FaithWriters. Got some excellent advice which you just added to. For this week's challenge I actually changed a bit of my story to fit the title I thought of after writing most of my story. (got that?) I...

Oh wow! This is my first chance today to check the results and post anything. I've been away from the Challenge working on some other writing projects and fixing up my house. What a welcome home. Congratulations to the other winners. I'm honored to be up there with you all. When I saw the USA topic ...

Well done judges. Congrats to all the winners. I seem to remember a couple of you lamenting that you never placed just a few weeks ago. Your perseverance has paid off! Lots of excellent entries this week, but I have to agree that these winners are notable. If the ones here I read this week are just ...
