Not long after starting to go to the office near home they closed it and the nearest office was a 45 minute drive away. The time for a checkup and new glasses came I got a new prescription for glasses which were supposed to be done in a week, they were supposed to call when they were ready. Two weeks later, I called them to find out if they were done, they were. I hightailed it to pick them up. They were supposed to have three sections distance, mid-range and near view they had no mid-range. I had spent all that time waiting and they were the wrong thing. I was aghast at my new glasses and had thought their mistake was a tragedy and cried all the way home. As heartbroken as I was, I settled for what I got.
I went home very upset because I had no mid-range to see the computer. But I wasn’t really using the mid range because that section was to small to see through. I was upset because I didn’t get what I had ordered and waited for. To my surprise I found out the mid range I had gotten for the computer were not necessary I can read the computer screen better just using the distance section of my glasses. My dear husband has observed, God saw to it I got the glasses I needed instead of the glasses I wanted. He does know best. I was loving my glasses that at first seemed like a mistake.
As I said I picked the glasses up thirteen days ago. I was helping my father-in-law get into my car to take him to a doctor’s appointment. And one of the lenses fell on the ground. I tried to stick it back in and discovered it wouldn’t stay, because there should be two screws by the nose pieces, but one of them was missing. Tomorrow will be two weeks and since I got these glasses and they were self destructing.
It gets worse. I couldn’t find the glasses from my previous prescription I had moved them to the kitchen where I had to be able to read things from time to time, even when I was just up briefly to pack my husband’s lunch and get him his breakfast before he leaves for work. I catch up on sleep over the next couple of hours, he takes a nap after dinner, and before if time permits. I had forgotten all about my brilliant idea to leave those glasses in the kitchen and couldn’t find them.
That left me with the glasses I had when I got married three years ago. Which were getting bad back then. A slightly out of focus set of glasses is better than no glasses at all. Driving wasn’t that hard, after all cars and trucks are pretty big. I usually spend the time waiting for dad sewing. I hardly got anything done before my eyes were on fire.
By the time I was supposed to drive to a totally different town after the time at the hospital to get the new glasses fixed after thirteen days. My eyes were on fire and the most pleasant part of the trip was the tears my eyes were using to put out the fire. I made it to the office and there was the wonderful technician who had talked me into new frames I now doubt I even needed. God probably changed the order so I would get what I really needed. But that technician had put the lenses in the frames and should have tightened the screws enough to stay put for more than two weeks.
