the miracle of life,
God’s gift to the world.
The brown of winter turns
into a lush green carpet,
a treasure for feet to explore.
Tiny seeds sprout into
food for the multitude, tasty
vegetables and juicy fruits.
Buds burst open in a
rich array of colors, delicate
blooms and hearty flowers.
Barren trees sport new green
coats, decorated with fruit
and sweet-smelling blossoms.
Lakes and streams are replenished
with sparkling clean water,
a haven for many creatures.
Animals drink of the life-
sustaining gift from heaven,
revitalized they scamper away.
Cleansed of its dirt and dust,
the natural hues of the earth
are reborn, harmonizing the whole.
And in enjoying nature’s beauty
mankind is also refreshed,
drinking in the peace of the scene.
Thanks to God, who provides
a season of rain, the
miracle of life continues.
Leviticus 26:4 “Then I will give rain in due season and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”
