A couple of years ago, my faith in the Lord was made stronger by resting in Him. I was dealing with three difficult situations at that time.
First, I went to Doctor Price for a regular checkup. She saw the mole that had recently formed on my leg. The mole had not bothered me, so I did not think anything about it.
However, being a very good and cautious doctor, she requested a biopsy. That was fine by me because I was certain it wasn’t skin cancer. A few weeks later the results of the biopsy came back. I was shocked when I was told that the mole was Melanoma! So, Doctor Price set up an appointment for me with a dermatologist surgeon, and the mole was removed.
Second, my husband was asked to take a job in Virginia. This job was better paying job, and one that he really wanted to accept because of the type of work he would be doing. Nevertheless, this meant that we would be moving.
Three, my mother had become ill. She was having symptoms of an anti-immune disease similar to Lupus. Naturally, I rather not move to another state while she was sick.
Having to contend with all three of these situations at one time was very exhausting and emotional. Even though skin cancer is usually curable, knowing I had it was disturbing. The ‘C’ word is like a death sentence! Relocating is stressful, no matter how prepared the person is. Being a retired military family, my husband and I have moved numerous times. Leaving my mother while she was sick was extremely upsetting. She lives by herself and is in her seventies. Thank goodness my brother and sister-in-law live close and can check on her.
Each day I would pray and pray and pray. I knew that prayer and resting in His arms was the only way to get through this hard time. With God’s help, and taking one day at the time, things worked out good. My lab tests came back indicating that all of the skin cancer was removed. The move to the Virginia area went like clock work. It was by far the smoothest relocation we have made. Thank the Lord, my mother I doing better, although she still has her bad days.
Yes, the Lord answered my prayers. The more I relied of Him the stronger my faith became. I am a true believer that resting in His arms and praying is the most reassuring way to get through hard times. Not just that, we should walk with Him daily.
