Grey clouds overhead
The sounds of Sunday motoring parading around him
He strums
He sings
Someone's mobile rings
They walk passed encassed
Hidden from the light of day
While he sings of freedom
Of the light at the end of the tunnel
The rising of the sun
The enevitable sunset reddening up the evening sky
He sang of optimism
Of long summer days
Of beaches of golden sand
Of walking hand in hand
But still the rain fell
Still the motors roared
But he sang of optimism
For he knew
He believed
'I am the shining, guiding light
follow me and I will give you everlasting life'
Some stood and listened
Others wondered
Others walked on by trying not to notice
Trying not to face the fact
Trying not to see the grey
Trying not to believe in the light that would wash away their sin and give them eternal life
He stood in the rain
Over and over again
Reaching out to those in pain and anguish
Giving hope
Giving joy
He spoke of salvation
He spoke of sacrifice
He spoke of love
He saw the light
The light covered by the grey
Which with belief would melt away
and reveal a glorious day
A new tomorrow
A new sunrise
A new beginning in Christ
He stood in the rain
He felt His lonely pain
He recognised the shining light
of freedom
His words sounded out across the now filled streets ...
Every morning when the sun rises in the sky
I can hear the people singing
I can hear them cry
Hello Freedom here she comes
Hello Freedom here she comes
Shout it out around the world and everyone will say
It is the dawning of an age
The start of a brand new day
Hello Freedom here she comes
Hello Freedom here she comes!
He is the Light of the world
My Guiding Light
My Saviour
My Lord!
