Failure

There is no such thing as failure,
With my sweet precious Lord,
He rights all of my failings,
By sheltering me under His wings.
Each failure’s a lesson imparted to me,
Each failure’s a splendid opportunity,
To grow in strength and love for my Lord,
Each failure can be an excellent reward.
For when I fail He lifts me up once more.
And I become stronger than I was before.
He refines me and molds me into His likeness,
So failure's not failure it’s His way to bless.

Adrienne Gallagher Dominici 3/4/04

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37: 23-24

When I was in the world, before being “born again” failures were devastating. I would fall into a state of depression, which would last for days. I would moan and groan and wail “why me, Lord why are you doing this to me?”

Now I am a true follower of Christ, and I study God’s word daily and in as much I have come to the realization the God is not doing this to me. No, on the contrary, He is doing it for me. He is refining me like gold, He is shaping me into His image. I am becoming more like Him and so much less like me. Which is in itself a tremendous blessing. For who I was in the world was pretty sad, now I am a child of God, and because of Him I am more than a conqueror, which makes me so not a failure.

That's a brilliant observation.

Nice poem, too. Thanks for posting this.

Satan only spites himself when he thrusts failure on God's own! This is very good. :)
