A look
A smile
A touch
A word
The gentle whisper that my heart heard

My friend
My lover
My husband
His wife
Hand-in-hand we start a new life

New house
New city
New friends
New son
The children keep coming one-by-one

A spat
A quarrel
A duel
A fight
We kiss and make up by the end of the night

Happiness
Sorrows
Laughter
Tears
Still deeply in love after all of these years

We're old
We're wrinkled
(He's bald)
I'm gray
We still have each other to hold onto each day

A smile
A touch
A word
A tear
The gentle whisper my heart can still hear

Beautiful! Sounds like those elderly couples who sit out on their porch swings holding hands... even after that 50th anniversary. You know... those couples that I try so hard not to envy. :::wink::: Seriously though, it puts a sweet flutter in my heart at the thought that could be me someday.
