The crowds cheering the pumping adrenaline
The smell of the rawhide in a glove
The dirt flying up as I dive for the ball
These are the things of my youth

Two granddaughters laughing and a pumping oxygen bottle
The smell of rubbing alcohol and foot cream
Throw pillows falling as I collapse on the couch
These are the things of my mid-life

My bride has been there through it all
Whether diving for the ball or the couch
She cheers just as loud and just as long
These have been the things of my life

There has never been a time she went her own way
My dreams became her dreams my hopes her hopes
We uprooted our lives when my career called
Through it all she loved, served and continued

Jesus taught us that true love serves
The Savior Himself served us with His death
Because of His great sacrifice and love
We are called by His name Christians

When we were young she took my name
Thatís the way things are done
Considering her love and her sacrifice
I think maybe itís time I took hers

Very sweet. A real proverbs 31 woman. A real gem and a model for the younger generation. Your poem blessed me very much. Thanks.

What great love!So much to learn from your poem.
Thank you for sharing. I believe your wife must be the most spectacular woman around. It's wonderful to see the love is still aglow!
Keep winning and shining for Jesus.

Keith, I'm almost jealous! This is a very nice poem. Would that all couples felt this way.
Merry Christmas!

I understand that love comes with its trials. But you've given me a wonderful, heart-wakening reminder (and renewed HOPE) that the candle flame of TRUE love never blows out... that it keeps right on burning, even through the wind and rain.
