FORBIDDEN DREAMS

Youíre a vision looking cool in a summer breeze
Iíd sell eternity to be by your side
Youíre looking for winner
No matter if itís a sinner
Itís just the boredom that you canít abide

Holding onto my heart in the palm of your hand
And then you squeeze it Ďtil I scream in the dark
Itís not that you can blame me
Nothingís gonna shame me
Never giving up Ďtil I find your mark

And you donít know how many nights
That I tossed and thrashed and turned
To be parted from your sight
To be alone again at night
And you donít know how many times
That I die when I get spurned,
To never see it in your eye,
No matter what it is I try.

Even if Iím next to you Iím miles away
Even if I talk to you itís not what I say
Even if Iím kissing you itís a game that you play
Even if Iím holding you Iím not gonna stay

I know thereís not a ďweĒ
Give me this fantasy
Iím dying to be free,
Help me! Help me!

In Forbidden Dreams thereís a future before us
And itís clawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it canít become reality

In Forbidden Dreams thereís a future before us
And itís gnawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it canít become reality
But it canít be our reality

Youíre holding me for ransom but you donít name the price
Iíve sold my soul and thereís nothing to pawn
Youíve got me on a spit
And it hurts just a bit
But isnít that what really turns me on?

Youíre playing it so cool with the stakes really high
Canít you see it that Iím crumbling inside?
Not that you would care
Itís just a Truth or a Dare
And Iím foolish not to just run and hide

And you donít know what I would give
To make Forbidden Dreams come true
To be holding you right now
Never mind the where, the how
And you donít know how many deaths
I would endure for only you
For just one moment of life
And to shake off all this strife

Even if itís suicide donít let me know
Even if itís lie Iím gonna let it grow
Even if itís killing me I wonít let it show
Even if youíve deserted me I wonít let you go

I know thereís not a ďweĒ
Give me this fantasy
Iím dying to be free,
Help me! Help me!

In Forbidden Dreams thereís a future before us
And itís clawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it canít become reality

In Forbidden Dreams thereís a future before us
And itís gnawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it canít become reality
But it canít be our reality

The dreams we dream sometimes become a reality, even though reality differs from the dream. Have a wonderful Xmas and a Happy New Year. Phyllis.

A very interesting, well written poem. Thought provoking. Kept my attention to the end.

There are some terrific lines here that evoke gut wrenching feelings. Not knowing you, or recognizing the voice in such pain,I am still impressed with the raw emotion. Touching, like a saber through blue flame and right to the heart of the matter! May have to read this one again... ~LG~
