Once again, my elderly mother began, what is for her, a busy day. She got up early, had her breakfast and read the newspaper. I left the house, at ten thirty, for an appointment and when I returned, Mom was getting ready for an afternoon visit to the dentist. I took her to the dentist and waited for her, in the car with, my dog, Andy.

After the appointment, Mom, Andy, and I went to the grocery store. When we returned, Mom sat for awhile, in her rocker, to rest up a bit before preparing dinner. Dinner was a casserole with corn chips, cheese, hamburger and beans.

While Mom was getting the ingredients together for the casserole, she discovered she had no beans. My brother, who was working in the garage, on a project, went to the store and got her some beans. Mom finished making her casserole.

As I was in my sitting room, watching the news, I heard Mom going down the hall. I, then, heard a crashing noise. When I went to investigate, I discovered that she had lost her balance and had fallen, with her dinner in her hands, face forward. She did not break any bones, but as I am writing this, Mom is beginning to feel sore.

Once again, another day, with it's events, expected and unexpected, is almost over and once again, another day.....I am blessed to still have Mom.

Your attitude says Christ over and over. Savor all the moments. They will be gone in a twinkling of an eye.

Thank God for all His blessings. To have your mom with you and to enjoy her company and her casseroles is truly a great blessing.

I am learning so fast after two young tragic deaths in our family in three years how precious each moment is with our loved ones. Your article was a blessing to read, thank you!

Susanne, you are blessed, indeed! Embrace each new day and all it brings, as a wonderful gift from God.
