Oh! Assyrian King.
Oh! The evil boastings you did sing.
You advanced your armies
Across the land.
To rule the Middle East
Was your plan.
The throne, you stole,
From your older brother;
No mercy you spread
Like no other.
You wanted Judah’s land
To rule it all. You didn’t consider
Judah’s Lord would heed your call.
It looked as tho your
Way , you had.
But God takes care of
Those who are bad.
Your armies swept
With pride and fear;
185,000, fell when the
Lord’s angel came near.
You turned your tail
And away you ran
Back to Nineveh
And your foolish clan.
There where you worshiped
Nisroch, your god,
And your two sons murdered
You in the land where
You trod.
No mercy you gave,
No mercy you received.
If you and your sons had only believed
More than one would have ruled
In your stead.
