“Mommy, I’m hungry. Can I have a snack?” Ross is standing in the kitchen pantry looking for something to eat. It does not matter to him that lunch was only a few hours ago and the snack he had just a little while ago has long since been forgotten. He is a growing boy and growing boys are constantly hungry.

As a Christian, if I am to grow in my faith, I also need to be constantly hungry. Matthew 5:6 tells us that “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” I want my desire for the Word to be so great that as soon as I put it down, I long to pick it up again. I want my prayers to be a constant conversation with God. I want to continue to strive to be more and more Christlike. I do not ever want to become “full” of God, to be satisfied in my walk of faith.

Just like the growing boy, I pray that God will give me a never ending appetite for Him and for His Word. Let me never lose my hunger for the Savior.

Thanks all for your welcomes and your comments. As for the length of my piece, I'm used to writing devotionals, which are ideally 150-250 words - short and sweet. However, I do write longer pieces at other times. Will add more length next time. :)

Sure, if we can hunger spiritually like teenagers hunger physically, there's no telling how far we would go in the spirit.
I enjoyed your piece, its true message is a great reminder.

Very short and very much to the point. It's not always easy to say all that you want in such very few words. Thanks for sharing.
