It would be amazing if we all dedicated our lives hungering for the word of God and desiring to do His will. We often spend our time hungering after many things of the world and in the world, but we often fall short of seeking God with the same hunger and energy we put into seeking other things. The things that we often hunger after and desire of the world are often temporary, which means the affect eventually wears off. But God’s word and will forever remains with us. In short God should be the only thing we seek after with a feeling of hunger, because He is the only thing that can truly satisfy such a feeling. His word never changes regardless of how the world revolves or who walks in and out of our lives, His word and His will remains the same. It took me a while to realize that He loves me the way no one else does. I once directed my hunger towards the world and others seeking to find a permanent satisfying experience, but I realized there is no such thing to be sought after on a worldly realm. This understanding brought me to the truth, and that was God’s word. When we hunger for worldly things we become servants and slaves to that which we hunger after. When we find self respect for ourselves we find that God is the only person who should arise such a feeling within us.
