I had always wondered why people love to insult. I am still young but I had already met a lot of annoying people with the most unreasonable insults. These are insensitive people who don’t care of your feelings and make some unnecessary comments called insults. There are also other people who insult you because they don’t like you for all the reasons he or she can give. Some just love to give insult simply because it is their habit and that they find it amusing. The worst part is that insults always hurts. It is never nice. It is a degenerating practice that people do to pull other people down. I don’t get why people love to hurt each other until God showed me what I really am, a sinner.
It was then that I began to understand that people love to insult because each one of us would rather look into other people’s business than on our own faults. Jesus had once said that it is not what people take in that makes him unclean but it is what comes out that make the person is unclean. It is because of the heart that is filled with malice deceit, lust and greed. Therefore, it is very natural for people to do such things. It is only by God’s grace and power that a believer’s heart is changed into something pure. In this way my curiosity was satisfied but then God showed me something very ridiculous in human standard.
He showed me that if you truly live for the Lord, then the devil would certainly oppose you. One of his favorite tactics is the use of unreasonable insults. A genuine Christian will surely be insulted unfairly. It really is no wonder. The world had always opposed God. Jesus was the Light who came to his own but his own did not acknowledge him. The world despised Jesus and insulted him. However, He kept quiet and did not retaliate even at the worst time of his crucifixion.
In the same way Christian will also experience such insults because the world had opposed Jesus first. The insults will never be of the same quality and quantity that Jesus had experience but it still hurts. Yet let us still remember that everything happens for the good of those who love him even if we no longer understand. Besides, some insults can be considered as loving rebukes sent by God to form our character. Everything is for the perfection of His plans. AMEN.
