Lawyers are designed to uphold the law, teachers are designed to teach, parents are design to raise their kids and the list can go on and on. People like drug users, alcoholics, prostitutes, and criminals aren't aware of their design.
Genesis clearly tells us that we were created (design) in God's image. Isn't that incredible, we are God's image yet we won't and don't behave as such. We abuse eachother and we abuse our bodies yet we forget that we are created in GOd's image. In fact, I'm abusing my body because I constantly eat the wrong foods and don't exercise and as a result I'm overweight. I'm convicted right now that I'm created in his image but I'm abusing myself. What's wrong with that picture?
Well, we have forgotten what we were design for as humans. We have knowledge of God but we have to believe and accept that we were design to glorify God in our lives. God design us to have free-will but our will should comform to God's will. It brings tears to my eyes because I'm design for praise and greatness but I'm subconsciously living defeated and depressed. God didn't design me for defeat. Phillipians 2:13 says, "I can do all things THROUGH Christ who strengthens me". That is what we are design for. We are design to live for Christ and he will give us the strength to do what he design us for.
