Cheers and celebration could be heard for miles around. It sounded like the World Series, the Super Bowl or the Olympic Games, only bigger. The angels were singing, praising, laughing and cheering. Another believer had come home.
“Well done, my son,” said the Father. “I love you so much, my child.”
His Beloved Savior carried him gently in his arms close to his heart. He showed him around the City above through the sparkling pearly gates, over the streets of gold and beyond that clear crystal sea. It was total peace like he had never known. The Heavenly Father shone with radiance and glory like he had only imagined.
His Savior led him to a beautiful mansion. Outside flew a state park flag and, of course, a maroon and white bulldog flag. He knew that he was home. Then he saw his daddy.
“I missed you, Papa,” Donald said. “How’s your mama?”’ he asked. “She misses you and longs to one day see you, but you’d be surprised at her strength. She recovered from her illness to walk again. She has kept the house up and she even cooks at times.”
“Dad, thank you for preparing me to make this journey. I was traveling toward this day my entire life. It is so much grander than I could have ever imagined. I always dreaded dying, but there was no pain, only peace and great joy as I stepped through that door,” said Don. The two shared a laugh and Papa’s deep belly laugh echoed through the streets.
