“Comfort, Oh comfort my people”
The Lord says unto you.
"I see your tears and sorrow,
My love for you is true.
You only see a small part,
but there’s so much in store.
I long to draw you closer,
To have you trust me more.

I too have known great sorrow,
My Son hung on that tree,
He bore your sins upon Himself,
He died to set you free.
I could not look upon His face,
When He carried a world of sin.
But Jesus broke the chains of death,
In triumph, He rose to win.

The battle of death is over.
For those who know there’s hope.
Though you may mourn, I will be there.
My love will help you cope.
I give you joy and comfort,
Your tears will bring release,
Don’t hold on to all that binds,
I long to bring you peace.

A time to weep, a time for joy,
Remembering the time you share.
Knowing you will meet again,
Because My love you share.
My Son brings hope for the future.
In heaven you’ll meet again.
Released from all life's earthly ills.
Freed from all your pain.

So come to Me and rest your heart,
I long to draw you near.
Set you free from all your pain,
release you from your fear.
My love is overflowing.
It’s as close as My Own Hand.
Just reach out and know I’m there.
For Your Lord will understand."
