I have a hole in my heart for you.
When I first saw you,
I knew you were to be mine.
A pug with personality, that is what you had!
I fought for you with the rescue agency
and return for a new beginning in life,
I received your unconditional love.
You were so healthy, so vibrant.
Then one night our world was rocked!
You became so sick, so quickly!
Watching you in pain,
Broke my heart into pieces.
Your cries hit my heart & soul, hard!
You were my “baby.”
You loved ME!
As I did you.
The decision I made,
Was one of the hardest ever to conceive,
I knew it was right.
Even though it was so hard,
I held you for the last time:
Listening to you snore
(Boy, could you make some noise)
Unaware of what was about to happen.
I cried silently,
As others teased on how loud you were.
Now you are pain-free.
You are in heaven,
And always in my heart!
